Kitchen Gets a New Twist with Indigo Blue and Vanilla Painted Cabinetry in Dover, PA

Kitchen gets a new twist with indigo blue and vanilla painted cabinetry in dover pa

Our clients moved into a lovely home but were never really thrilled with the layout of the kitchen and its dark oak cabinetry with matching oak hardwood flooring and dated Corian countertops. After living with it for several years they were ready to move forward with their plans seeking a fresh updated kitchen with a modern flair.

We redesigned the kitchen layout removing the L-shaped bar which previously took up a lot of space. Incorporating a large center island with a round peninsula allows additional work space while the end rounded area serves as a new breakfast nook area.

We also removed the counter top alcove storage area on the opposite wall, turning the entire area into a bank of storage pantry cabinets and centering the oversized refrigerator. The microwave now resides inside the pantry instead of sitting out on the countertop.

Elias painted, Vanilla White solid maple cabinetry with a shaker style profile was chosen for the perimeter areas. For the island we selected Elias’s shaker profile in painted Indigo Blue. For the island counter top we selected Viatera’s Muse, a blend of alabaster white with dark hued veins and for the perimeter counter top, Emerstone’s, cobalt blue, a greyish quartz speckled with flecks of blue glass.

We applied Norstone’s unique natural lavastone wide planking backsplash to the perimeter walls. Two seeded glass mullion doors were incorporated in the upper perimeter wall cabinets. This now well-lit kitchen includes dimmable LED under the cabinet lighting and flush mounted dimmable LED round lights with a brushed nickel finish installed in the ceiling. Three large Kichler modern glass seeded pendants hang above the island. Armstrong’s engineered 12x24 LVT flooring was installed in a running bond pattern in an agate grey color.

A modern glass and stainless range hood vent was placed above the range coordinating with the stainless steel appliances and single oversized Blanco stainless steel sink with an integrated wire grid. A Riobel, Edge faucet with pullout sprayer and matching soap dispenser was selected.

The finished kitchen conveys a fresh modern looking appearance and feel while utilizing the space. Every small detail was meticulous thought out to create this stunning showcase kitchen.
