Kitchen Undergoes Huge Transformation on S. Maurice St.

Project cover photo for kitchen remodeling in Manchester, PA

We enlarged this kitchen by incorporating a sunroom addition which had been added on the home several years prior. It was tricky to mesh the two floor levels since the sunroom had a step down from the existing kitchen. Incorporating the two spaces together provided us to add a large island which houses the oversized low divide stainless sink, provides bar seating, and allows plenty of additional lower cabinet storage.

We installed Fabuwood’s Allure Luna cabinetry in the Dove color, a soft creamy white and Fabuwood’s Allure Galaxy in Cobblestone, a rich dark mahogany color. We added Berenson’s matte black Aspire hardware pulls in graduated sizes and knobs. We added a bench seating area in the Luna Dove color topped with a butcher block on the top. The center island was topped with Carrara White, Venezia quartz, while the perimeter counter tops were finished with leathered black pearl granite with a half bullnose edge. A Ruvati stainless sink, 33", low divide 60/40 double bowl was installed along with a Moen, Sleek, matte black, 1.5GPM, pull down, single lever faucet was paired with a Moen matte black counter mounted soap dispenser. We installed a large RevAShelf wood peg board system in one of the oversized drawers to organize plates and bowls. We also included a double 35-quart RevAShelf trash bin.

Ape Grupo’s, Fado White 2.5 x15.6 backsplash tile with a complimenting pencil trim was installed on the wall of the slide-in stove area.

We installed Karndean’s LVT in the Van Gogh series in Hessian Oak, the lime-washed appearance of Hessian Oak features deep, wide grains and a beautiful variety of brown tones ranging from dusky, to golden, to a light saddle brown. LED dimmable high hats lights were strategically placed in the ceiling which provides ample task lighting. Two linear pendant lights hang on both sides of the center island. LED dimmable undercabinet lighting was installed under the perimeter cabinetry.

An existing fireplace was removed and replaced with a sleek matte black modern gas unit with a floating hearth. A simple rough-cut mantle with wide matte black brackets hangs above the fireplace. The wood was reclaimed from the homeowner’s father’s sawmill.

Sherwin Williams SW 7596 - Only Natural, a warm pastel, crème color was selected for the walls along with bright white trim.
