Whole House Renovation In York, PA
Long time clients and empty nesters, Randy and Lynne contacted Red Oak Remodeling after purchasing a 1980's brick rancher nestled in an older development in East York. Even though they just bought a brand new 2-story condo in 2018 on the west side of town they really missed having their own private yard, longed for living on the east side of York again and liked the idea of moving into a rancher, where everything is on one main level so there are no steps to manage.
After plans were drawn-up and approved by the clients we started the whole house renovation project by gutting the entire first floor by removing the wall between the dining room, reconfigured both bathroom layouts, closet layouts, and added an absent and much needed coat closet to the living room. Removing the wall between the dining room and old L-shaped bar area allowed for a larger kitchen with a 9 ft arced center island, perfect for entertaining.
The overhead bulkhead was removed, enlarging the overall appearance of the kitchen. We replaced the worn and dated pine cabinets with Elias custom shaker-style custom cabinetry in Floral White and installed a large center island in Artic Whale shaker cabinets. We removed the laminate counter tops and installed Emerstone's quartz in Carrara White. Re-configuring the bathroom layouts allowed us to enlarge the master bathroom suite and make room for an over-sized ceramic tile walk-in shower, a vanity with 2 separate sinks and a separate water closet for the toilet. We reduced the size of the middle bathroom and installed a pedestal sink, toilet and shower/tub combo. All new flooring was laid throughout the home. LVT planking was installed in the kitchen, entertaining area and living room. Capturing the timeless, classic look of Carrara marble, Mannington's new pattern of Luxury Vinyl Sheeting, Carrara features a 12' marble hexagon was installed in the powder room. Armstrong's Alterna 12x24 tiles in Evening Dew were installed on the master bathroom floor.
