Serene and Tranquil Master Bathroom Update in South York

Our client’s goal was to create a relaxing and serene master bathroom suite. Originally there was a large drop-in garden tub in the area where the new walk-in shower is now located. The space was a perfect spot for the new oversized tile shower which now accommodates a sizeable bench. A pre-existing large non-operating sky light was kept intact and provides natural light above the new shower space. The dated original fiberglass shower unit was small, relocating a walk-in shower to the opposite side of the room creates a large shower space with plenty of elbow room.

For the shower stall we selected 2x9 Uptown Teal Green tile from Qualis Ceramica, ran in a herringbone pattern on the front of the shower bench and for a pop of color we added it in the back of the niche. It is paired with Happy Floors, 4x12 Titan, Tile on the shower walls in white with a Brillo finish, creating a minimalist look, installed in a staggered pattern. For the shower floor we installed Belworth Kalum penny mosaic rounds in stone by Glazzio. The look and feel of the natural stone compliment the Teal Green herringbone tile and white shower walls.

For the shower components we installed a modern, matte black Moen 16” adjustable shower arm paired with a Kohler matte black Awaken 10” single function 1.75GPM rain showerhead. Moen’s Gibson collection gives a contemporary industrial design a softer point of view. The tubular spout and handles mirror the look of exposed piping while polished edges create a chic and modern style. We used a matte black Moen 5-function handshower slide bar which aids to remove soap from your hair and provides easy shower cleanup. Moen’s Gibson M-CORE line in matte black was chosen to operate the shower head and handheld, which can be ran simultaneously. The 2 series trim offers temperature control capabilities and is pressure balanced. A 3/8” glass barn style slider door with a matte black C pull handle was installed. The left side being operable and the right stationary.

A 54” Fabuwood Allure Galaxy Timber vanity cabinetry was installed which was placed directly a crossed from the shower. Fabuwood’s Timber color has an all-natural, earthy finish which creates a warm and soothing oasis look. Berenson’s modern Matte black T-Bar pulls were selected for the cabinet hardware. Emerstone Vera quartz was selected for the vanity, and the knee wall next to the vanity was capped with Vera as well. Vera is known for its striking white background and bold, dramatic veining. An undermount rectangular Kohler 20” white porcelain sink was selected with Moen’s matte black Gibson wide spread lav faucets. A large LED lighted vanity mirror hangs above the sink.

A Panasonic WhisperWarm fan, Model #FV-0511VH1 with 0.7-Sones 110-CFM was installed just outside the shower area. It’s a high-performance fan which provides heat for those chilly mornings.

The walls were painted with Sherwin Williams, White Herron SW #7627 It’s a gentle shade of off-white with subtle griege undertones.

A 12x24 COREtec floating LVT floor in Foussana Limestone was laid on the bathroom floor. COREtec is chip and crack resistant so a dropped hairdryer won’t hurt the floor. This design replicates the look of grout without the upkeep hassle.
